Having an Energy Management System can deliver significant cost benefits by ensuring that energy use is continually reviewed and appropriate policies and procedures are in place to ensure energy consumption is actively managed

Environmental Efficiency has experience in the implementation of Energy Management Systems in Ireland.  Environmental Efficiency also  works closely with NSAI in assisting in the on site  auditing of NSAI clients for EN16000.

One criticism of energy audits are that they are a once-off exercises, and whilst they deliver benefits, over time energy use rises again because no one was tasked with continually reviewing performance.  Having an Energy Audit and an Energy Management System will ensure that the benefits are maintained.

Some organisations in Ireland have been certified to IS393, the Irish standard for Energy Management Systems.  This standard is now being superceded by EN16000.
