Fitzpatrick Motors in Bray have made motoring history recently with the sale of County Wicklow's first ever bio-fuel car.

The Ford Focus model FFV (Flexi Fuel Vehicle) was sold by Charlie Hadden and Des Fitzpatrick, at the local car dealership.

According to Charlie and Des, the bio-fuel model is ultra-friendly to the environment because it runs on any mix of petrol or E85 bio-ethanol, which is a low-emission renewable fuel derived from organic matter.

E85 is currently being sourced by Maxol from Carberry in Co. Cork where it is made from whey, a milk derivative. Maxol has begun opening bio-ethanol fuleing stations in major urban centres.
