ISO14001
Environmental Efficiency gained accreditation to the Environmental Management System standard ISO14001 in January 2012 for site and office activities. We have been implementing such systems for many companies over the years and thought that it was time we practised what we preached. Many organisations take a long time to implement such systems. Our view, backed up by our own experience and of the many firms where we have implemented the system, is that with determination a system can be written inside six weeks and within three to four months of operating the system, accreditation can be achieved.

Michael Martin leaves
Michael joined Environmental Efficiency in April 2011 as an internee (see News item of 01/03/2011). Following nearly four months of work experience with us we are pleased that he has found a suitable job nearer home in Wexford Town where he will be helping one of our clients, Medentech, with the implementation of their ISO 14001 Environmental Management System. During Michael's time with us he undertook Air Dispersion Modelling for Taconic and a review of the necessity for a Consent to Discharge for the Boatyard, New Ross. We wish Michael the best for the future. (10/06/2011)

Bord Gais and Orbisol
Environmental Efficiency is pleased to be associated with Bord Gais and Orbisol at the Energy Show in the RDS this week. Environmental Efficiency will be on the Bord Gais stand to support their drive to convert oil users over to natural gas. In addition to natural gas being a cleaner fuel than oil (less CO2 emissions and no SOx emissions), the need for oil tanks and the associated bunding is eliminated. In the UK oil leaks are the number one source of ground and water contamination; eliminating oil from your site offers clear environmental benefits. Environmental Efficiency has undertaken a number of energy audits to date to support Bord Gais including Hollister, Our Lady's School Templeogue and Kinsale Community Hospital. (02/04/2011)
