Covid-19 Update from Environmental Efficiency

With the situation surrounding COVID-19 continuing to evolve, we wanted to inform you the steps we are taking to minimise any disruption.

For the island of Ireland, all regular outdoor site work will continue as it involves little or no contact with others.  This includes environmental sampling, environmental noise and dust monitoring and related work.  Where work is carried out inside premises, for example, workplace noise or workplace air monitoring, then we will check with you before coming to site so that we can understand any concerns you may have and also to protect our staff.

All work outside of the island of Ireland is currently suspended as the Irish government is advising against such travel.

Where work requires samples to be analysed by third parties, then it is possible that analysis turnarounds will be longer due to possible staff shortages and logistics problems.  Currently, we have had no indications of any such disruption but it is something we should all be prepared for.

The level of staff in our offices is now reduced to the minimum with staff working from home where possible.  We anticipate no disruption to desk based consultancy (e.g. Annual Environmental Reports) as all staff can access the server and emails.  If you need to  contact us, we recommend using email.

The most important things you can do to help protect yourself from COVID-19 and prevent the spread of the virus are:

  • Washing your hands regularly for 20 seconds or more
  •  Coughing or sneezing into a tissue and disposing of it immediately
  •  Avoiding contact with your face
  •  Self-isolating if you have a new cough or a fever of more than 37.8°C
