Managing Fugitive Emissions: Assessment and Compliance Solutions
Fugitive emissions are unintentional emissions of gases or vapours from facilities or industry activities. Fugitive emissions can often comprise polluting material and can be released into air from leaks in equipment, pipelines, seals, valves, open containers etc., and not from the usual sources such chimneys, stacks, and vents. It is important to control the release of these unintentional releases to minimise pollution to air.
The EPA and other regulators can request that a Fugitive Emissions Assessment be undertaken to determine whether this is an issue. Many licenses and permits would impose a limit of fugitive emissions.
Environmental Efficiency can carry out a fugitive emissions assessment and determine whether these emissions breach limits. Where limits are breached we can make recommendations to achieve compliance.
